Let's Speak

A young baby can't even lift his head, or speak when he's hungry or cold, so instead, he screams and he cries to tell his parents he wants something, or that he's in pain. If you're a two year old, that's an age-appropriate and effective way to get your mom's attention and love. One Choice

People who are sincerely seeking a real connection with G-d often ask me. "What am I doing wrong? Why am I still so far from living the spiritual life of emuna that I really want to be living? Short On Time?

Four new studies (Mogiler, et. al., 2012) have shown what people with emuna have always known. That, contrary to logic, giving away time that you don't have can make you feel like you have more of it.

What a beautiful observation of the Truth.

Where I have difficulty, as usual, is not in how my colleagues observe reality but in how they interpret it.  Psychologist Jeremy Dean concluded that the people, in these studies, who were generous felt better because of  odd "perceptual" alterations that their brains were subject to. He mentioned "10 ways that the mind warps time."

Aren't you curious to know about the spiritual orientations of the people that were studied?  The researchers might have come up with very different conclusions if they would have asked different questions that assessed the participants level of spirituality and emuna. Then they may have found that the deeper truth is that the people felt better for completely different reasons.

People with emuna feel really good about giving even if they objectively don't have much to give because they believe that G-d who is constantly looking after them will be pleased with their generosity, and in turn, will surely give them back everything that they need and more.  When people have little and give regardless, they are actively demonstrating and strengthening their emuna which is the greatest source of joy.

Living The Dream

Lately I've noticed that I'm finally using all of the knowledge about success and happiness that I've known about for years. 
 
So, what took me so long? I've known what works for thirty years. In this time, haven't I met enough people to know what works and what does not work when it comes to success in marriage, parenting, and business? Even more surprising is that twenty-three years of religious and spiritual education was not enough to make me happy. 
 
Did I need time to develop myself and mature so I could actualize my G-d given potential?
 
No!
 
The greatest power that G-d gives man to grow and excel can be described in one word:
 
DECISION.
 
I didn't need thirty years to decide to change my life - It only took one second.
 
What took me thirty years was to find the right strategy to make the decision. You are more fortunate than I was. You can start right now because I'm going to give you what it took me all this time to discover. Continue here...
